The Miami Marlins delivered a decisive offensive performance on Sunday, scoring 12 runs to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 3-12 at loanDepot Park. The victory improved Miami’s record to 60-59, while Los Angeles fell to 45-73.
The game began with back-and-forth action in the first inning. Neto opened the scoring for Miami with a double that drove in Schanuel, though a challenge of the call was upheld. The Angels responded immediately when Stowers scored on a wild pitch by Miami pitcher Ryan Gusto, tying the contest at 1-1.
However, Miami regained the lead later in the frame. Lopez reached on an infield single and scored on a throwing error by first baseman Schanuel. Caissie followed with a single to left field, driving in Lopez to make it 3-1.
Key Hitting Performances
Siri extended the Marlins' advantage in the second inning with a home run to center field, measuring 413 feet. The Angels cut the deficit in the fourth when Sanoja singled to left, allowing Caissie to score.
The fifth inning proved to be the turning point of the game. Conine launched a two-run home run to right-center field (434 feet), increasing the lead to 6-2. The rally continued as Sanoja singled to center, bringing in both Caissie and Mack to push the score to 8-2.
Stowers then added to the tally with a single to center, scoring Marsee and Sanoja for a 10-2 advantage.
