Acuña Jr. breaks through
Acuña Jr. shifted the game in the bottom of the third inning, homering to left center for 390 feet with Baldwin aboard to give the Atlanta Braves a 2-0 lead over the Miami Marlins on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
The homer was the first of two for Acuña Jr. in Atlanta’s 11-3 win. He added a solo homer to right for 337 feet in the eighth, one of three home runs in the game for the Braves. Olson accounted for the other, a 422-foot homer to center in the sixth.
Sixth-inning separation
Atlanta expanded the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Olson’s homer made it 3-0, and Thomas followed later in the inning with a double to left that scored Harris II and sent Dubón to third.
Riley added a sacrifice fly to center to score Dubón, and Baldwin reached on a fielder’s choice to second as Thomas scored, with Jarvis safe at second on a fielding error by second baseman Edwards. The inning pushed the Braves ahead 6-0.
Miami answered in the top of the seventh. Sanoja singled to center to score Edwards, and Conine singled to right to bring in Jiménez, cutting the margin to 6-2.
Braves answer again
Atlanta responded in the bottom of the seventh. Harris II tripled to center to score Olson, and Dubón singled to center to bring in Harris II for an 8-2 lead.
