Late break in extras
Williamson scored on Nick Frasso's wild pitch in the top of the 11th inning, and Caminero singled to center to bring in Díaz, giving the Tampa Bay Rays a 9-7 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Coors Field.
The two-run 11th finished Tampa Bay's comeback from a 7-5 deficit. Aranda had pulled the Rays even in the ninth with a single to left that scored Walls and Díaz, moving the game to 7-7 after Colorado had led since the fourth inning.
Hicks changes the third
Colorado took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Moniak grounded into a double play and McCarthy scored. Tampa Bay answered in the top of the third when Aranda walked to score Mullins, with Walls moving to second and Palacios to third.
Hicks then gave Tampa Bay the game's biggest swing, homering to right for 402 feet. Palacios, Walls and Aranda scored on the play, putting the Rays ahead 5-1. The homer was one of three in the game and accounted for four of Tampa Bay's nine runs.
Rockies surge, Rays respond
Colorado quickly tied the score in the bottom of the third. Tovar singled to center to score Beck, and Moniak followed with a 380-foot homer to right that scored Tovar and McCarthy, making it 5-5.
