Nocatee, Florida — Gas prices in the Jacksonville area averaged $4.2896 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 23, 2026, according to AAA, up from $4.2579 yesterday. That is up from $4.1817 a week ago but higher than $3.8441 a month ago.
The statewide average in Florida stands at $4.2941, while the national average is $4.4744. Drivers in the Jacksonville area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Jacksonville average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8830. Regular prices are about 45 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $3.0781, drivers are paying about 121 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Jacksonville area averages $6.2118 per gallon, AAA reported.
