Cornerback Jacob Parrish is dealing with a back injury after being removed from the Buccaneers’ Week 1 game. Parrish was expected to take on a larger role this season after moving from the slot to an outside cornerback position. He played 20 snaps before leaving and had limited Ja’Marr Chase, while fellow second-year cornerback Benjamin Morrison filled in.
If Parrish cannot play, Tampa Bay could continue using Morrison outside and Keionte Scott in the slot. If Parrish is available, the team could use him both outside and in nickel packages, according to the report published by sports.yahoo.com.
Wide receiver Jalen McMillan is listed with a knee injury and missed the season opener. Rookie Ted Hurst handled the third-receiver role in that game, playing 43 snaps and running 31 routes. Hurst finished with three receptions for 36 yards.
McMillan had previously suffered an injury in August that was not considered serious at the time, but he is now in danger of missing a second consecutive game.
