For more than twenty years, the master-planned community of Nocatee has shaped growth in Northeast Florida through a partnership between the Davis Family and The PARC Group. As the development nears its final stages, the developers have highlighted their role in creating what they describe as a sustainable new town rather than just a residential area.
The organization lists several specific contributions made to St. Johns County and Ponte Vedra over the years. These include the donation of land for Ponte Vedra High School and four other county schools, which helped establish local educational facilities.
The developers also provided land to Crosswater Church to assist with the acquisition costs for the site that now houses the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and Crosswater Park.
Infrastructure improvements are another focus of their reported impact. Nocatee Parkway was constructed to provide a hurricane evacuation route for Ponte Vedra residents. Additionally, the group funded mitigation for a traffic circle at Mickler's to reduce congestion and improve safety at that intersection.
They also secured millions of dollars to widen the Palm Valley Bridge from two lanes to four and add a dedicated path for pedestrians and cyclists.
Recreational and conservation efforts are also cited. The Nocatee Preserve, covering 2,400 acres along the Intracoastal Waterway, was permanently dedicated for public use with trails for hiking and biking. Davis Park was donated to the county to serve families and sports leagues. Furthermore, land for a new regional park and library has been donated to St. Johns County, with an opening scheduled for 2027.
