Firehouse Subs is scheduled to open a new restaurant in Nocatee at the end of November, marking the chain’s entry into St. Johns County. The establishment will be located at 1035 Crosswater Parkway in Ponte Vedra.
Tim Foster, the company’s director of operations and a St. Johns County resident, will oversee the new site. Foster has worked with Firehouse Subs for more than 15 years, advancing from a restaurant staff position to his current leadership role.
The opening provides local residents with access to the chain’s menu items, including the Hook & Ladder and Firehouse Meatball subs. Foster noted that customer demand played a significant role in the decision to expand into the area.
“We’ve had our eye on St. Johns County for a while now,” Foster said. “Our guests kept telling us they wanted a Firehouse Subs closer to home, and Nocatee felt like the right fit.”
Founded in Jacksonville in 1994 by brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, both former firefighters, the brand has grown into a global entity under Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons.
The Nocatee location will feature interior displays of firefighting equipment and photographs provided by area fire departments. Joe Puskas, the company’s chief mural artist, is creating a custom painting for the space that depicts a local firetruck alongside Nocatee’s water slide.
