A Ponte Vedra resident has filed a lawsuit against Publix, alleging that a store employee negligently pushed a shopping cart into her, resulting in significant injuries. The legal action centers on an incident that occurred on November 14, 2025, at the Publix supermarket located at 220 Front Street in Ponte Vedra Beach. Ponte Vedra Beach is about 10 miles north of Nocatee.
The complaint states that the plaintiff was inside the store when the alleged collision took place. The lawsuit claims the employee pushed the cart with insufficient care, violating the duty Publix owed to customers to exercise reasonable caution while maneuvering carts within the premises. The plaintiff asserts that this negligence directly caused physical harm, medical expenses, emotional distress, and lost wages.
According to the filing, the injuries sustained may be permanent or ongoing. The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, a figure that does not include legal costs or attorney fees. The complaint also notes that the plaintiff has requested a jury trial to hear the case.
The allegations presented in the lawsuit have not been proven in court. The case is currently pending legal proceedings, and no verdict has been reached regarding liability or the extent of the damages claimed.
