ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida — Murray Bros. CaddyShack, an iconic restaurant and entertainment destination at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, closed its doors permanently on June 27 after 25 years in business.
Andy Murray announced the closure via a social media post, thanking customers for their years of support and inviting the community for one final visit. The restaurant remained open until 10 p.m. on its final day.
"Thank you for all your love and support. We've had 25 wonderful years here at the World Golf Village, but it is now time to slip away. Come on by today, have a drink, and say goodbye," Murray wrote in the announcement.
The restaurant, which took its name from the 1980 comedy film "Caddyshack" starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield, had been a fixture of the World Golf Village since the destination opened. Its closure marks the end of an era for the St. Johns County landmark, which drew both local residents and visitors from across the Jacksonville area.
