Nocatee, Florida — Gas prices in the Jacksonville area averaged $3.8814 per gallon for regular unleaded on August 9, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9055 yesterday. That is up from $3.8046 a week ago but higher than $3.7979 a month ago.
The statewide average in Florida stands at $3.8776, while the national average is $4.0121. Drivers in the Jacksonville area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Jacksonville average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8830. Regular prices are about 8 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $3.0694, drivers are paying about 81 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Jacksonville area averages $5.3018 per gallon, AAA reported.
