The Jacksonville Jaguars are considering giving Travis Hunter more opportunities on offense after a 13-point performance in their loss to the Denver Broncos. Head coach Liam Coen said the team is reviewing how to use Hunter following the game.
"We’re gonna look at giving him some more this week," Coen said Wednesday. He also said the team is examining the offense as a whole and weighing how Hunter's responsibilities should be divided between offense and defense.
Hunter played six offensive snaps and 37 defensive snaps against Denver. Through Jacksonville's first two games of the 2026 season, he has one reception for eight yards. That usage differs from his 2025 season, when he recorded 28 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown in seven games.
The Jaguars selected Hunter No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Before entering the league, he was known for playing both offense and defense, but reports before this season indicated Jacksonville planned to use him primarily as a full-time cornerback.
Jacksonville opened the season with a 34-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns before the lower-scoring result against Denver. The team's current depth chart lists Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. ahead of Hunter among its pass-catching options.
