The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that several players will be sidelined during training camp following their preseason opener. LeQuint Allen Jr. has been ruled out for the remainder of camp due to a soft tissue injury, while Parker Washington and Wyatt Milum will miss the week due to injuries.
Parker Washington, who has shown strong performance throughout camp, suffered an undisclosed injury and is expected to be out at least until Sunday, according to Ryan O'Halloran from The Florida Times-Union. Analysts have noted that Washington has become a favorite target for quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has praised his work ethic and ability to get open.
Wyatt Milum, dealing with a knee issue, is anticipated to return next week. Milum is competing for a starting position on the offensive line, and his previous experience at West Virginia, where he earned Consensus First Team All-American honors, is seen as an asset.
Allen's injury is considered the most serious, as soft tissue injuries can be problematic if not managed properly. In his rookie season, Allen averaged 4.1 yards per carry and contributed in the passing game with 10 receptions for 54 yards. With the departure of lead tailback Travis Etienne, Allen is expected to take on a larger role alongside fellow second-year player Bhayshul Tuten.
While the injuries to these players are expected to be manageable before the start of the regular season, the Jaguars' coaching staff is prioritizing their recovery and ensuring Milum gets adequate practice time.
