A Second-Half Surge Seals the Win
Nashville SC asserted its dominance early and sealed its fate with a flurry of second-half goals to defeat Inter Miami CF, 4-1, at GEODIS Park on Sunday. The home side controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, but the decisive turning point arrived just before halftime when Andy Nájar tapped in a crucial goal to give Nashville a lead they would never relinquish.
The visitors had shown glimpses of threat earlier in the contest, but Nashville’s defensive structure held firm until the 45th-minute mark. Telasco Segovia managed to find the back of the net for Inter Miami CF in stoppage time of the first half, offering a brief moment of hope for the traveling fans. However, the break did nothing to disrupt Nashville’s momentum.
Mukhtar’s Brace Turns the Tide
Nashville quickly reasserted control after the restart. Hany Mukhtar emerged as the pivotal figure for the hosts, scoring in the 49th minute to restore the two-goal advantage. The Colombian forward doubled his tally and effectively ended any serious contention from Inter Miami just minutes later, finding the net again in the 56th minute.
Sam Surridge added insurance with a fourth goal for Nashville in the 56th minute, capitalizing on the visitors' defensive disorganization. Mukhtar’s performance was particularly notable; he finished with seven total shots, showcasing his offensive threat throughout the match.
