The Miami Marlins overcame an early deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Saturday at loanDepot park. The game’s decisive moment arrived in the fifth inning when the home team took the lead for good. That run proved critical, as the Dodgers were unable to answer in the final frame despite a strong offensive effort earlier in the contest.

Early Dodgers Lead

The visitors struck first in the top of the first inning. Mookie Betts hit a home run to left center that traveled 399 feet, giving Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. Max Muncy extended the advantage later in the same inning with a home run to center that went 393 feet.

The Marlins responded in the bottom of the second when Brandon Pauley hit a two-run home run to right center, driving in Caissie and tying the game at 2-2. The Dodgers regained the lead in the second when Lopez singled to right, allowing Hernández to score and putting Conine on second base. This play made the score 3-2 in favor of the visitors.

Marlins Take the Lead

In the bottom of the fifth, Sanoja grounded into a fielder's choice to shortstop. Conine scored on the play, while Marsee was safe at second on an error by shortstop Betts. Lopez moved to third, and the Marlins took a 4-3 lead.

The Dodgers had opportunities to tie the game but could not capitalize. In the ninth inning, Feduccia singled to left, allowing De Paula to score, but the Marlins held on for the victory.

Pitching and Records

Tyler Glasnow took the loss for the Dodgers. He pitched four innings, allowing five hits and four earned runs while walking four batters and striking out seven. His record is now 4-1.

For the Marlins, Cade Gibson earned the win. He pitched one and one-third innings without allowing a hit or an earned run. His record is 4-1.

Pete Fairbanks recorded the save, pitching one inning with one hit and one earned run allowed. The Marlins improve to 73-76, while the Dodgers fall to 90-58. Attendance at the venue was 34,814.
