K9s for Warriors is expanding its operations in Nocatee with the goal of reducing the time veterans spend on the organization's waitlist. The group’s headquarters is located in the Nocatee area, and the upcoming growth is intended to increase capacity for those in need.
Brett Simon, the president and co-founder of the organization, stated that the expansion will help save the lives of veterans. He noted that the increased capacity will allow the group to assist a larger number of individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, or military sexual trauma.
The new campus is expected to create approximately 60 jobs in St. Johns County upon completion. Simon spoke to News4Jax regarding the project, emphasizing the organization's commitment to supporting veterans through these services.
The expansion aims to address the current demand for the organization's services, which include training and support for veterans dealing with the aftermath of military service. By adding more resources and space, K9s for Warriors hopes to streamline its process and provide aid to more people in the region.
