The Jacksonville Jaguars have revealed their team captains for the upcoming 2026-27 season, featuring six returning players and two new additions. The established captains include quarterback Trevor Lawrence, linebacker Foye Oluokun, defensive end Josh Hines-Allen, punter Logan Cooke, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, and offensive lineman Robert Hainsey.

Joining the captaincy this year are wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who was acquired through a trade last season, and long snapper Ross Matiscik, who has been with the team since the 2020 NFL Draft. According to Jaguars coach Coen, both Meyers and Matiscik have made significant contributions to the team, with Matiscik emerging as a leader.

Coen praised Lawrence's leadership, noting that he received unanimous support from his teammates to be captain. He highlighted Lawrence's journey through challenges and his ability to lead effectively, stating, "He got every single vote on the offensive side of the ball," indicating strong trust from his teammates.

Lawrence's leadership style has evolved, as he has taken more initiative to mentor teammates during practices. Coen emphasized that Lawrence's preparation and accountability set a standard for the team.

The Jaguars are set to open their season against the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.
