In the two preseason games so far, Tavai has demonstrated his skills as a blitzer, recording five quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. In addition to his defensive contributions, he has also become a significant player on special teams, participating in 28 snaps across five of the six special teams phases.

His career statistics include 432 total tackles, four interceptions, and 11 pass breakups. In 2025, he played 290 defensive snaps with the New England Patriots.
