The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the process of reducing their roster from 90 players to 53 ahead of the NFL season. This roster trimming must be completed by Sunday, and the team plans to retain 16 players on the practice squad.

The first player cut from the roster is running back Barika Kpeenu, who was brought in during training camp after the Buccaneers' first preseason game against the New York Jets. Following this cut, the Buccaneers' running back lineup remains at four, with Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell as the starters, while Sean Tucker and Josh Williams are competing for remaining roster spots.

Further details on additional cuts and roster decisions are not yet clear.
