The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will conclude their preseason with a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 28 at EverBank Stadium, starting at 7:30 p.m. This matchup comes as the Buccaneers prepare to reduce their roster from 90 to 53 players.

Head coach Todd Bowles has not yet announced a starting quarterback for the game, but the focus will be on backup quarterbacks Jake Browning and Jalon Daniels. Both players are vying for the position behind starter Baker Mayfield as the regular season approaches.

Browning, who joined the team on a one-year contract in March, made his preseason debut against the Kansas City Chiefs after recovering from a back injury. In that game, he completed 8 of 11 passes for 84 yards, but the Buccaneers struggled offensively, failing to score in their first four drives.

Conversely, Daniels, who played in the second half, led the team to a comeback victory, throwing a touchdown pass and orchestrating two scoring drives in the fourth quarter.

Daniels has demonstrated strong performance throughout the preseason, scoring on every possession he has led. He has completed 19 of 29 passes for 182 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions, along with 28 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

The Jaguars, coming off a 34-17 win over the Carolina Panthers, have also been evaluating their quarterback situation. Starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence has not yet participated in the preseason, allowing undrafted rookie Joey Aguilar to take the lead. Aguilar has completed 9 of 10 passes for 130 yards and one touchdown.

Tampa Bay is favored by 1.5 points in this matchup, with a point total set at 35.5. The Buccaneers are set to begin their regular season on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
