The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially named their team captains for the upcoming 2026 season, selecting six veteran players through a vote by their teammates.

The chosen captains are quarterback Baker Mayfield, tackle Tristan Wirfs, wide receiver Chris Godwin, nose tackle Vita Vea, linebacker Alex Anzalone, and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. Mayfield, Wirfs, Vea, and Winfield are returning captains from the previous season, while Godwin resumes his captaincy after previously holding the role in 2023.

Anzalone joins the leadership group in his first season with the Buccaneers, having previously served as a captain for five seasons with the Detroit Lions.

This year's captain selection follows the departure of two longtime Buccaneers captains during the offseason. Lavonte David retired after 14 seasons with the team, and Mike Evans signed with the San Francisco 49ers in free agency.

The Buccaneers are set to begin their regular season on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium this Sunday for Week 1.
