The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have received encouraging news regarding their first-round draft pick, Reuben Bain Jr., who recently experienced an injury scare during preseason. Bain, selected 15th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, reportedly suffered an AC sprain.
However, updates indicate that the injury is not serious, and he is expected to be available for the team's opening game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1.
Bain has impressed coaches and local reporters throughout the offseason with his strong work ethic and intensity. He is anticipated to play a vital role in the Buccaneers' defense this season, contributing to a defensive front that struggled last year, ranking last in quarterback pressure rate.
During his final season with the Miami (FL) Hurricanes, Bain was instrumental in leading the team to a College Football Playoff runner-up finish. He recorded 54 tackles, including 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks, while starting all 16 games.
