The Tampa Bay Buccaneers completed 38 roster moves on Sunday to meet the NFL's 53-man roster limit for the regular season. Following the roster cuts, many players who were released returned to the team, as the Buccaneers re-signed 15 players to their newly-formed practice squad once they cleared waivers on Monday.
The team has 17 practice squad spots available due to the International Pathway Player exemption held by rookie tackle Paul Rubelt. One of the remaining spots was filled by quarterback Easton Stick, who was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday and is now available to join any team.
The Buccaneers are expected to finalize their practice squad with a 17th signing before resuming practice on Tuesday.
Among the 16 players re-signed to the practice squad, six were rookies added after the May draft, including wide receivers Dean Patterson and Eric Rivers Jr. The Buccaneers addressed a depth issue in their secondary after cutting down to eight defensive backs on the active roster by re-signing cornerback Ramon Parodie and safeties Ifeatu Melifonwu, J.J. Roberts, and Rashad Wisdom.
Additionally, tight end Devin Culp, who was waived after two seasons on the active roster, was also brought back.
The initial 16 players on the Buccaneers' practice squad include:
- TE Devin Culp
- WR Garrett Greene
- OLB Yasir Holmes
- DL Jayson Jones
- G Henry Lutovsky
- S Ifeatu Melifonwu
- CB Ramon Parodie
- WR Dean Patterson IV
- WR Eric Rivers Jr.
- S J.J. Roberts
- T Paul Rubelt (International Player Pathway exemption)
- C Ben Scott
- QB Easton Stick
