Although Proctor had limited opportunities to showcase his skills in the preseason at his new position, he is dedicated to improving. He has been watching game tape of former NFL offensive lineman Rodger Saffold to enhance his performance. Proctor mentioned that Aaron Brewer, a teammate who played alongside Saffold, recommended he study Saffold's play style, noting similarities between the two players.
Rodger Saffold was a second-round draft pick in 2010 and had a successful 13-season career in the NFL, playing for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, and Buffalo Bills. He earned two Pro Bowl selections in 2021 and 2022 and received All-Pro honors in 2017.
While Proctor is slightly larger than Saffold, the versatility Saffold displayed throughout his career, playing both guard and tackle, may have influenced Brewer's suggestion for Proctor to learn from him.
