The Miami Dolphins have signed Malik Herring, a former defensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, following the recent NFL roster cuts. Herring, who was released by the Tennessee Titans just one day prior, is expected to enhance the Dolphins' defensive depth as they prepare for their season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 13.
At 28 years old, Herring brings experience to the Dolphins, who are considered one of the weaker teams in the league. He previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2022 to 2025, participating in 28 regular season games and four playoff games, and has won two Super Bowl championships during his career.
Throughout his time in the NFL, Herring has recorded 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Known for his run defense, the 6-foot-3, 275-pound player played college football at the University of Georgia from 2017 to 2020. Herring went undrafted but found a place in the NFL with the Chiefs.
The addition of Herring is part of a broader roster shuffle by the Dolphins, who have signed several players off waivers as they finalize their team ahead of the upcoming season.
