Ameer Abdullah has earned a position on the Jacksonville Jaguars' 53-man roster after a strong performance during training camp, as reported by John Oehser of the team's official site.
Entering the regular season, Abdullah will join LeQuint Allen as a rotational running back behind co-starters Bhayshul Tuten, who is dealing with an illness, and Chris Rodriguez. Although Abdullah participated in only one of the Jaguars' three preseason games, his efforts in training camp and joint practices were sufficient for him to secure a roster spot for the 2026 season.
Last year, Abdullah, a second-round draft pick in 2015, played in 13 regular-season games with the Indianapolis Colts. He recorded 14 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown, along with 16 receptions on 17 targets for 99 yards. Further details regarding Abdullah's role in the upcoming season were not provided.
