Parker Washington did not play in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 24-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints during their preseason opener on Saturday.
Washington, along with other key starters, was sidelined for the game. This left undrafted rookie Trebor Pena to lead the team, recording three receptions for 58 yards.
Washington, a second-round pick in the 2023 draft, had a productive previous season, finishing with 58 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns over 16 regular-season games. He has also shown promise during the current training camp and is expected to take on a significant role in the team's offense, joining starting wide receivers Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers.
Further details regarding Washington's absence from the game were not provided.
