The Los Angeles Rams have traded for wide receiver Tutu Atwell, who returns to the team from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter, as reported by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Atwell, who signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Dolphins earlier this offseason, will rejoin the Rams, a team he departed in March. During his previous five seasons with the Rams, he recorded 16 rushes for 72 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his potential as a dual threat in the right system.
While Atwell has experience with the Rams, he will need to improve his performance as a receiver. His most productive season came in 2023, where he made 39 receptions for 483 yards and three touchdowns over 14 games. For his career, Atwell has accumulated 105 receptions, totaling just over 1,500 yards and five touchdowns.
Jarquez Hunter, who was competing for a roster spot during training camp, will now join the Dolphins, where he is expected to add depth behind running back De'Von Achane. Further details regarding the trade have not yet been provided.
