The Jacksonville Jaguars made significant changes to their roster on Sunday, two weeks before the start of the 2026 regular season. The team had until 6 p.m. EST to finalize their roster, resulting in one of the busiest transaction days of the year.
In total, the Jaguars waived 25 players, released nine, waived/injured two, and placed two on reserve/injured with the designation to return. Notable players released include quarterback Nick Mullens, wide receivers Tim Jones and Austin Trammell, offensive lineman Chuma Edoga, and running back DeeJay Dallas.
Mullens, an eight-year veteran, served as the backup to Trevor Lawrence last season. His release followed the Jaguars' recent trade with the Miami Dolphins for quarterback Quinn Ewers. Edoga had played 14 games with two starts for the Jaguars last season, while Dallas participated in three games.
Jones has been with the Jaguars for five seasons, playing 53 games with three starts, and Trammell appeared in seven games over the past two seasons. Among those waived were linebackers Yasir Abdullah, Jalen McLeod, and Jack Kiser, who had varying degrees of experience with the team.
Additionally, the Jaguars waived undrafted rookie quarterback Joey Aguilar and waived/injured Carter Bradley, who spent the previous season on the practice squad. The team also announced the trade of tight end Hunter Long to the Arizona Cardinals, which included a 2028 seventh-round pick in exchange for a sixth-round selection.
