Tampa Bay Buccaneers Begin Roster Cuts Ahead of 2026 Season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the process of trimming their roster to the required 53 players before the deadline on Sunday at 6 p.m. Following a competitive training camp, the team currently has 78 players on the roster, meaning 25 cuts are still necessary.

As of now, the roster includes three quarterbacks: Baker Mayfield, Jake Browning, and Jalon Daniels. The running back group consists of Bucky Irving, Kenny Gainwell, Sean Tucker, and Josh Williams.

The wide receiver lineup features 11 players, including Chris Godwin Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan. Additionally, the tight end position has five players: Cade Otton, Payne Durham, Bauer Sharp, Ko Kieft, and Devin Culp.

On the offensive line, the Buccaneers have 13 players, including Tristan Wirfs and Cody Mauch. The defensive line is made up of nine players, with notable names like Vita Vea and A’Shawn Robinson.

The outside linebacker corps includes nine players, while the inside linebacker group has five. The cornerback and safety positions feature eight players each. Finally, the special teams unit is represented by three specialists: Chase McLaughlin, Riley Dixon, and Evan Deckers.
