The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have strengthened their roster by signing wide receiver Jha'Quan Jackson, a former sixth-round draft pick by the Tennessee Titans. This move comes as the Buccaneers prepare for their preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars, following victories over the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.
In a corresponding move, the Buccaneers waived/injured wide receiver Dennis Houston. Jackson, who is 5-foot-9 and weighs 188 pounds, was noted for being 'undersized' in pre-draft evaluations. Despite this, he recorded a respectable 4.42-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Jackson is the nephew of Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed and was recognized as an All-AAC selection while playing at Tulane in 2023. His pre-draft evaluation highlighted his potential as a slot receiver with the ability to create big plays, although concerns about his competitiveness and route-running skills were noted.
After being drafted by the Titans, Jackson had a brief stint with the team, participating in 12 games during his rookie season before being waived in 2025. He subsequently spent time on the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints and played for the UFL's St. Louis Battlehawks and the Houston Texans before joining the Buccaneers.
