The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are gearing up for their preseason matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday night, with significant roster decisions looming. Head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht must finalize their roster cuts from 90 players down to 53 by Sunday.

Several undrafted free agents, rookies, and veteran players are at risk of being released, with four notable players mentioned as potential cuts. Outside linebacker Chris Braswell, a former second-round pick, has struggled during his time with the team and is currently injured, missing the preseason game against Jacksonville.

His competition includes veteran Anthony Nelson and second-year player David Walker, who has shown promise after recovering from an ACL injury.

Wide receiver David Sills V, who was brought in for his experience with offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, faces stiff competition from third-round draft pick Ted Hurst and other receivers. Hurst's strong performance in training camp may leave Sills without a spot on the final roster, especially since he lacks the special teams capabilities of his competitors.

Tight end Devin Culp, who had a promising start in 2024, has struggled to maintain his position due to injuries and the drafting of Bauer Sharp. Sharp's impressive performance has put Culp’s roster spot in jeopardy, as the team is expected to keep only four tight ends.

Interior offensive lineman Elijah Klein's future is uncertain as well. Although he could remain with the team, the drafting of Notre Dame guard Billy Schrauth poses a challenge. Schrauth's injury during training camp may provide Klein with a temporary advantage, but Klein's lackluster performance last season raises questions about his viability on the roster.

As the Buccaneers prepare for their final preseason game, the decisions made by Bowles and Licht will shape the team's roster for the upcoming season.
