Tutu Atwell has returned to the Los Angeles Rams after a short time with the Miami Dolphins, where he did not secure a significant role. After five seasons with the Rams, Atwell signed with Miami in March, hoping to find more opportunities, but was traded back to Los Angeles when he failed to earn a top position in the Dolphins' receiving lineup.
Atwell shared his surprise at the trade, stating, "I was shocked myself. I got a phone call. (Coach) Sean (McVay) told me, ‘Welcome back.’" He expressed happiness about reuniting with the Rams, emphasizing that it feels as though he never left.
Atwell stated, "I’m back with my brothers, man. I just feel great and feel awesome just to be back here and with these great players and guys. I’m just excited."
Originally selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Atwell's playing time with the Rams has been inconsistent, leading to questions about his performance and potential. The Rams are now looking to bolster their receiving depth behind players like Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, and Atwell's return may help address that need.
