The Jacksonville Jaguars completed their final day of training camp, which included a second joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Following a strong performance on Tuesday, quarterback Trevor Lawrence and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski emphasized the team's progress and the upcoming challenge of preparing for the Cleveland Browns in less than two weeks.

Lawrence noted that while he has had limited game action during the preseason due to coach Liam Coen's decision not to play starters, he has focused on developing his skills and building chemistry with his receivers. He specifically highlighted his connection with Brian Thomas Jr. and mentioned ongoing work to improve timing with Travis Hunter.

Udinski praised the running back group, which has no returning starters, for their development. He pointed out that Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. have shown significant improvement, allowing them to play more instinctively. Ameer Abdullah's experience has also been beneficial for the younger players in the group.

Rookie wide receiver CJ Williams has made notable strides during camp, particularly after a strong joint practice with the Carolina Panthers. Udinski remarked on Williams’ growing comfort with the system and the importance of communication among receivers as key factors in his development.

The Jaguars will face the Buccaneers again in their final preseason matchup on Friday, providing one last opportunity to assess their readiness before the regular season begins. Lawrence expressed confidence in the team's progress but acknowledged the need for continued effort as they approach Week 1, stating, "We’re on track, but we just got to keep plugging away every day."
