St. Johns County has initiated a new initiative aimed at supporting young professionals, beginning with an inaugural event in Nocatee that drew more than 60 attendees. County officials stated the gathering was designed to connect, develop, and retain emerging workforce talent within the region.
Participants spent the evening networking, sharing ideas, and discussing opportunities for deeper community involvement. Organizers noted that the strong turnout demonstrated significant interest among young professionals in resources that facilitate career growth, peer connections, and long-term local settlement.
The program aligns with the Economic Prosperity objective outlined in St. Johns County’s Strategic Plan. Officials emphasized that the effort extends beyond simple networking to include talent recruitment and retention strategies, leadership training, and defined pathways for professional and personal success.
A follow-up event titled the Emerging Leaders Toolkit is scheduled to maintain momentum. This second gathering will feature a panel discussion with local professionals offering career advice, resources, and tips for sustained achievement.
The upcoming session is set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the St. Augustine Airport, located at 4730 Casa Cola Way, Suite 200, in St. Augustine. Tickets for the event cost $10.
