Nocatee, Florida — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky met with insurance and reinsurance leaders in London on July 22 during the state’s business-development mission to the United Kingdom.
The discussions focused on Florida’s insurance market, reinsurance, resilience and possible research cooperation. The governor’s office said the meetings build on a Florida-U.K. memorandum of understanding signed in 2023.
The delegation also met with Lloyd’s of London and representatives of Florida International University. The release described additional talks involving aerospace, aviation, emerging technologies, life sciences and photonics.
